The Women in Media Oration Honouring Caroline Jones AO celebrates a trailblazer of the industry, mentor to many, and much-loved leader. Caroline Jones was our National Patron for many years and her support for all women working across the industry was beyond compare. This special annual event honours her legacy and is delivered by remarkable women whose work in media has also positively shaped society and culture.

About Kitty Flanagan

This year's Women in Media Oration will be delivered by Kitty Flanagan – one of Australia’s most beloved comedians, writers, and actors. A masterful storyteller, Flanagan has built a career on sharp observational comedy and intelligent wit. She is the creator, co-writer, and star of the hit ABC series Fisk, which has won multiple awards, including the 2025 AACTA Award for Best Narrative Comedy Series, 2022 Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress in her performance as the protagonist of the show, and a 2021 AACTA Award for Best Comedy Performer. With a career spanning stand-up, television, and bestselling books, Flanagan’s ability to connect with Australian audiences makes her the perfect voice to reflect on the ever-evolving media landscape.

 

The Women In Media Oration Honouring Caroline Jones AO is a must-attend evening for senior executives in the media and government landscapes. The Oration will foster intellectual discourse, inspire positive change for gender equity, and contribute to the betterment of society.
