With job searches now taking 10 weeks longer, Women in Media created a tool to help you speed up your search process
Navigating a competitive job market can be challenging, and if you're unsure where to focus your search efforts, you're not alone. Job seekers are now spending on average 10 weeks longer looking for new roles according to Seek, as the labour market tightens and competition intensifies.
Women in Media recognises these challenges job seekers face, especially in sectors like ours where gender disparities persist. According to recent findings in the Women in Media Dataset, while women make up nearly half of Australia’s media workforce, significant gender imbalances remain, particularly in creative and senior decision-making levels and most predominantly in film, TV, radio, and photography.
Our curated jobs board is a valuable resource that connects women to opportunities they may not find elsewhere. We post fresh listings every week across all fields of media and locations, including remote and hybrid opportunities. It makes your job search more efficient, eliminating the need to scroll through LinkedIn, multiple job sites, and specific employer careers pages, and introduces job seekers to positions they may not have considered before because of their area of speciality, despite having the relevant strengths and transferable skills.
The start of the new year offers a promising window for job seekers with hiring activity peaking in the first quarter. It is the ideal time for those looking to take the next step in their careers or new opportunities.
And to help kickstart your search, we've got some exciting roles currently listed on the Women in Media Jobs Board.
