International Women's Day Celebration: Perth

06/03/2020 @ 7:00 am 8:30 am Australia/Perth

International Women’s Day breakfast this year has a distinctly international, fast paced flavour with stellar guest, Linda Mottram, presenter of the ABC’s flagship radio current affairs program, “PM”.

Twice an ABC correspondent in the Middle East and Moscow, Linda has been caught up in shootings and bombings in Lebanon, was held at gunpoint in Turkey, and, as a woman, kicked out of public buildings in Saudi Arabia.

She’s explored crusader architecture in the Middle East, enjoyed an illicit tipple in Iran, and tracked the rise and fall of nascent democracy in Russia.

She’s a Walkley award winner, originally from Perth, where she was a graduate cadet at West Australian Newspapers and graduated in Arts from the University of Western Australia.

Linda has been a journalist, broadcaster and trainer for the national broadcaster for most of her 30 year career and will be in conversation with 7 News Perth reporter Syan Dougherty.

Join WIM WA on Friday, March 6 in the McCusker Auditorium at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. You won’t want to miss this fabulous vicarious tour of life as a reporting by one of Australia’s best known intrepid journalists.
